The final outcome of the residency will be a group show featuring the works (performance, installation, landart, mixmedia/transmedia…) created by resident and local artists on this year’s theme, which is:
Resistance as the way of survival
“Contemporary human is a willing victim of the consumerist world. in a materialistic world, our will to survive is the moving force, it pushes us to be a part of this endless net.
Reality, based on the consumerism, transforms our line of thought, the value systems, our necessities, our goals… it dictates our decisions, forces us to fit ourselves in the frames it has created.
During the residency, artists will answer the question: which tools can be used to protect our fragile, inner selves from the wildness of today, and which ways can lead to our resistance to the consumeristic order, how it is possible to follow our real desires, while not ignoring the outside world, not hiding, nor being lost in it.”
