CALL FOR PROGRAMME PROPOSALS
ANIMA is a grassroots arts organization that aims to create ecological alternatives and sustainable ways of life through permaculture, education and cultural exchange. The primary project of ANIMA is the visiting artist residency programme ANIMA CASA RURAL ARTIST RESIDENCY (ACRAR). Situated in a rural setting outside of Guadalajara, Mexico, ACRAR is an active family farm and cultural laboratory that creates a holistic and creative space for artist, thinkers and activists through curated thematic residencies.
We are currently seeking proposals from curators and cultural organizers to program a two-week residency at Anima Casa Rural. We are looking for programmes that lead artists through an intentional experience while fostering creativity and artistic production. The programme must be able to take place in the rural setting of ANIMA and should engage artists on a theme. Through conversations, dialogues, screenings and/or workshops the programme should engage visiting artists practice while allowing them time for production. As well as leading the residency, curators will have a chance to present their programme and curatorial practice on a panel discussion at the cultural centre Hospico Cabanas in Guadalajara. Programmers will be responsible for selecting and cultivating artists for their programme, and are expected to assist with the ANIMA staff in promotion and marketing of residency.
As remuneration Anima will cover the costs of food and lodging for the visiting curator. The visiting curator is responsible for their own airfare, and Anima is happy to assist in helping them source funds. Staff will be on site to prepare all meals and organize logistics. For more information on ANIMA and facilities please visit: animacasarural.com

- 150 word thematic proposal for your residency.
- Detailed outline of proposed programme for two weeks (full programme shouldn’t exceed 8 hours, and scheduling and format of programme is at curator’s discretion)
