Kinosaki International Arts Center (KIAC) started its Artist-In-Residence program dedicated to performing arts in April 2014. Set in the north of Hyogo prefecture in Kinosaki, one of Japan’s most picturesque and nature-filled onsen (hot springs) towns, KIAC is a facility where artists can concentrate on their creativity and develop it to create great pieces of work.
The Artist-In-Residence program runs throughout the year. The aim of the program is to support the creativity of various artists and companies and to then present and promote the finished works not only in Japan but also to the rest of the world. Another objective is to encourage creative interaction with the local community and tourists through events such as open studios, workshops, talk shows, etc.
Through this residency program, we hope to create opportunities for artists, local residents and tourists to exchange and create together.
