A L T O, amazing Art Residency held within the mountains of Alto Paraíso, Brazil, is pleased to invite entries for proposals for its 2018 applications.
Come join us in the Paradise, where time and space are fluid, and connect with the creative forces of the Universe!
The program is open to self-organized and self-driven visual and performance artists of all disciplines; we welcome students and groups, emerging and professional artists, curators, art collectives, musicians. Artists can apply with no application fee through our website.
A L T O is held in Mariri Jungle Lodge, an inspiring, creative home, yoga retreat centre and a permacultural project space, where we intend to live by the principles of sustainability and interconnectedness of all things, employing the arts to promote greater understanding, balance and healing.
We plant our own organic vegetables, use bio-construction techniques to create beautiful and eco-friendly living spaces, use solar panels, compost and recycle. We're located in the middle of Brazilian savannah surrounded by the powerful, pristine and mysterious nature, among myriads of waterfalls and crystal encrusted hills.
Expanding perspectives of this magical location provide an environment that supports creative processes, giving the artist circumstances to refine their practice and merge with its transformative energy, to observe and to participate in the cosmic miracles of creation.
The residents have opportunity to choose from multiple different accommodation spaces: two tree houses (10m and 25m high in the canopy), a bamboo chalet, an african-inspired tower room, beautiful orange room with a library and balcony and some more).
We also have a a dance / yoga temple, a mineral water pool and a finish sauna, where we love to cleanse after the busy day.
We’re looking forward to share our Paradise with you.
