Mladen Miljanovic

Mladen Miljanovic (b.1981) lives and works in Banja Luka, Bosnia & Herzegovina. He describes his own works the following way: “I use art as the means of sublimation of the negative forms of the past, taking performance, installation, images and photographs as media through which the forms of the social trauma are being redefined”. Miljanovic is the recipient of the coveted Henkel Art Award and the Zvono award for best young artist in Bosnia and Herzegovina. His work has been exhibited at the Busan biennial, Palazzo Forti in Verona, Antje Wachs Gallery in Berlin among others. Currently, he is preparing a solo exhibition for the Museum of Modern Art in Vienna (june 2010). Miljanovic was an artist-in-residence at ISCP in New York as well as Neue Galerie Graz, Austria and Kultur Fabrik in Hegenhaim, France.
