Andrea Bianconi, “Too Much” at the Texas Contemporary Art Fair

Barbara Davis Gallery is pleased to announce “Too Much”, a performance by Andrea Bianconi on Saturday, October 3rd (2:00pm and 6:00pm) at the George R. Brown Convention Center for the Texas Contemporary Art Fair.

In his performance Too Much Andrea Bianconi stands for ten minutes with found stereos attached to his body, each playing a different song. The songs are personally significant to Bianconi and represent a memory he has experienced in his life. Michael Jackson, Luciano Pavarotti, Aretha Franklin, Domenico Modugno, Bob Dylan, Gloria Gaynor, and Eugenio Finardi play simultaneously on repeat. Gradually, each specific song becomes unclear as a new sound is produced. Bianconi questions if this new sound provides clarity or confusion to the moments of his past.

Barbara Davis Gallery and Andrea Bianconi will produce a compilation album titled My Song, which will be available on CD as an edition of 7.
(Songs Featured: Nessun Dorma by Luciano Pavarotti, Meraviglioso by Domenico Modugno, Blowin’ in the Wind by Bob Dylan, I Am What I Am by Gloria Gaynor, Man in the Mirror by Michael Jackson, Extraterrestre by Eugenio Finardi, and I Say A Little Prayer by Aretha Franklin)
